2021
Dear friend at (Company Name),
Isn’t it cool when a story begins with the end? So, let me tell you this one…
In 2020, I started a new job as a copywriter in the US, but that didn’t occur on any particular day. I began working exactly one year after I moved here, pretty magical, ha? And that’s where I am now: Casanova//McCann, developing the 360º communication for the Hispanic market with Chevy, Florida Blue and Nestle.
Before the flight from Colombia to the US, I packed my six years of copywriting experience and I said bye to my family at the airport (a tear goes back to my eye).
In the last three years in Colombia, I worked for some recognized independent agencies, then Sancho BBDO and Havas, where I earned more seniority and therefore, direct client experience, brand management, honors and recognitions. During this time, I focused on digital. Social media campaigns, website content and blogging, were some of the jobs my creative directors entrusted me with.
Another storytelling hop…
My school was Ogilvy & Mather for three years and I worked tirelessly to improve my copywriting craft, concepts and ideas while working in financial, automobile, foods, mobile and retail industries. I was part of the company when it was awarded the most creative agency in Latin America for five years in a row.
And because every story has a beginning, let’s start writing ours together. I am very excited to explore new opportunities and hope my passion for creativity takes me further with you and (Company Name).
Kindly,
David Horta
2020
World up!
I am David Horta and I want to bring you the SALSA, because as a Colombian copywriter recently relocated in the US, all of my words are filled with BUENA ONDA, and that is how I came up with this SPANGLISH letter, a SANCOCHO of languages which shows you how far I can push an idea.
Currently, I have almost 7 years of advertising experience scoring the GOL, working with global and CHIBCHOMBIAN agencies, growing from intern to EL JEFE, and being
PILOSO for awards and great client campaigns, I mean, I know how to make every kind of advertisement: UNA BACANERÍA.
So, I am asking you for PISTA to land into the US market, an opportunity to show the creative skills living in ESTE PECHITO, because yeah! I want to learn all about the secrets in your agency, but still, I will work with BERRAQUERA to put my world into yours.
Sincerely,
David Horta
